Stop Spiny Presentation March 16, 6 pm

Join Zach Stewart from the Douglas County AIS Program on March 16 at 6 pm for a free live webinar on the invasive spiny waterflea, a type of zooplankton that preys on native zooplankton, including Daphnia, which are an important food source for native fishes. This poses a problem for our fish, as spiny waterfleas with their long tails and spines are difficult for fish to eat. Spiny waterfleas arrived in the Great Lakes in contaminated ballast water and they are finding their way into our inland lakes – there are no known ways to effectively control them. Prevention is key to protecting our lakes and native fisheries. Join for the live presentation with Q&A on Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/cpi-wfpt-nmn
