Mark your calendars! We are excited to co-sponsor a boating safety event with the Town of Barnes at Tomahawk Lake Park on Saturday, June 25, 10:00 – 11:30 am. Invited speakers include Rick Peters, WDNR Warden Supervisor, and Katelyn Juza, WDNR Area Recreation Specialist.
We will also provide information about curly-leaf pondweed and Eurasian watermilfoil – plant samples will be on display so boaters can keep an educated eye out for these invasive plants that are the focus of AIS remediation efforts in our lakes. And we’ll provide an update on high water issues and our lake gauge program that monitors local lake levels.
The event is open to the public and will be geared towards families and kids of all ages – there will be door prizes and the Town of Barnes will have its fire engine and ambulance on display, so bring your children and grandchildren! We hope to see you there!
